Pacing myself

I have learned that I am not very good at pacing myself.  Once I want to get something done and get started, I go for it.  But then, I am tuckered out and done.  Hence, my absence last week (sorry about that) after I got the toy room all cleaned and organized.    I let the project get too big, and then spent 1/2 a day cleaning, organizing, and putting together the room (and it is amess again after the kids played all weekend).

This week I am going to “try” and do a better job of pacing out my to-do list and projects.  We will see how it works.

Happy Monday!

One Project Down

The big project of the day was to clean and organize the toy room.  One project down!!!  I will admit that it was so large a project that I had trouble motivating and starting the task.  However, I just stayed focused and kept going…  I was surprised that more toys did not end up in the garage sale pile.  However, that also means that the kids are playing with the toys they have, and that is a good thing.  Below are pictures of the before and after.

What has your project of the day been?

Time Flies

How are you doing on your resolutions?  I am not making as much progress as I would like, but I am making progress.  So I am celebrating the success and working on improvement.  I am fortunate to have the opportunity to take a few days off next week.  With kids I am always hesitant to take time off just for me, but after much thought and chatting with my husband, we feel the time is right to take a few days.  Next week will be a great combo as the schools are closed for President’s Day  and Tuesday is a “me” day.  I hope to clean, organize, workout and get 16 hours worth of things done in 8 hours of alone time? (perhaps my expectations are a little high).  Come back to check on productivity.  Perhaps we can inspire each other.

Red (pink) Waffles

After working all day I needed a fun and quick dinner for Valentine’s Day for the kids.  The LOVE breakfast for dinner, so waffles were the easy choice.  And why not make the festive by making them red or pink!!!  The kids loved them.  Start by making your favorite waffle recipe add some red food coloring and voila!  Valentine’s Day Waffles.

And homemade chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

Happy Valentines Day!  Talk to you soon,

Valentine’s Day Projects – part two

So many fun projects this time of year!  And I go back to Pinterest for my inspiration.  I found these valentine’s (from Disney’s Family fun) that my daughter and son will be giving to all their classroom friends.  I found all the supplies at Target – in the $1.00 bins.  For a total of $7.00 I will have valentines for 30 friends.

and I can’t wait to make these with the kids to “receive” all the fun valentines.

Valentine’s Day Projects

As I have mentioned before, I have a new love affair with pinterest.  I have found a few projects that I am using/adapting for my kids for Valentine’s Day.  The first one can be found here.

It was super easy and fast and cheap!  All good things here.  As one of the room moms for my daughter’s first grade class, these are going to make great favors for the class.

One Day Delay

I apologize for not having the February resolutions up and ready to go.  We are experiencing some spring like weather in Indiana and I was outside enjoying it today.   I will have resolutions up for you tomorrow.
