Motivation

What motivates you?  Our family loved watching the Olympic Trials on TV a few weeks ago.  We cannot wait for the Olympics to start so we can cheer on athletes as they compete.  I found I was so motivated during the trials. I cleaned more, I exercised more, I baked more… I just sensed an extra spring in my step.

Then – the lull…  these weeks between the trials and when the Olympics are going to start.  nada.  I have felt blah.  I haven’t exercised since the trials.  I have not prepared dinners (until the night of).

So what motivates you?

I can’t wait until the Olympics are on TV.  I am looking to get my mojo back!!!

stocked freezer

After going to the grocery store this weekend, I had the menu for the week (plus some) and I thought that was that.  I was very surprised at what happened next.  I cooked all the meals, and our freezer and fridge are good to go.  The summer schedule starts tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t too scatter brained this week getting the kids to and from, working, feeding everyone, etc…  So, over the last two days I baked the following (recipes to follow this week)

  1. Baked BBQ chicken
  2. Italian Chicken
  3. Chicken Pot Pie
  4. Enchiladas (with left over meat for another meal)
  5. Mexican Rice and Beans
  6. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Whew!  The kitchen has smelled great this weekend.  So what do we do after I have all the dinners prepared?  Order in.  Yep.  I was the crazy lady that did that.  Enchiladas is what I cooked last and I wasn’t in the mood for something that heavy, so we got salads to go!

Do you do freezer cooking?

positive thinking

It’s Monday.  yet again.  Monday and I are not friends.  However this week is busy and I need/want Monday to be my friend.  I am going with the power of positive thinking!

It is one of those weeks where the whole family is really busy and there are lots of activities in the evening as well.  I work all week, the kids are in school, my husband has his final exam this week, we have a meeting at the school about next year, end of the year portfolio night is this week, dance recital for my daughter is this week, the neighborhood garage sale is this weekend as well as my daughter’s birthday party.  I need each day to be productive and get the to do list done and done early!

So I am going to start out the week with positive thinking!  I can do it.  I will stay focused and get things done.  Monday and I will be friends this week.  I will be productive this week.  The kids will help out.

We can do this!
